Admittedly, I did not pack lightly. I know this. There’s no
need to rub my nose in the fact. And it’s certainly not nice to encourage six
moving company employees to participate in the heckling. By day two I heard
them whispering, “How many pairs of shoes do you think she has in all of those bags?”
Nine, boys, nine pairs of shoes. But some of them don’t
count. Flip flops barely take up any room at all. If I don’t count those,
technically I only packed six pairs of shoes. And if I don’t count the pair I
have on my feet, I’m down to five pairs. Considering the fact that we won’t see
our household goods until mid-November, I don't think that's excessive at all.
In my defense, we will potentially experience three seasons
(summer, fall and winter depending on where we are) before reaching our destination.
Not to mention the different types of clothing one needs – casual, date night,
professional, workout. It’s impossible and impractical to pack lightly under
these conditions.
And those bags aren’t just full of shoes and clothing. I
brought other necessities as well. If we happen to get stranded in the wilds of
Canada or Alaska, we have enough products to keep us pretty, sufficiently moisturized and smelling good for weeks.
You’re welcome.
